John Humphries Jr.
Founder & CEO
Mr. Humphries is an entrepreneur and senior Risk Management professional with over 20 years of experience. Prior to founding Risk Priorities, a RegTech company, John gained extensive Risk Management experience while working at the Federal Reserve Bank and multi-national corporations including Ernst & Young and JPMorgan Chase Bank. In addition to the United States, he has worked in highly regulated regions and countries across the globe and also has expertise in regulatory engagement and audit practices. As a RegTech thought leader, John has participated in panel discussions, been interviewed by magazines and written articles on RegTech. John has a Master of Science Degree in Technology Management from Columbia University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Lister is a senior technologist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience. Before joining Risk Priorities as the Chief Technology Officer, Justin served in leadership positions and gained extensive technology, cyber security and risk management experience while working at large global Financial Service companies including Standard Chartered Bank, JPMorgan Chase Bank, Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse. While at Standard Chartered, Justin was the company’s Chief Information Security Officer. In addition to being a technology and cyber security expert, Justin has extensive global work experience, having worked across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America. Justin has a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honors) Degree with specialization in Computer Security from the University of Wollongong.
Jeff Ingber is a financial services professional with extensive senior management experience in both government service and in the private sector. Currently, he is a regulatory compliance consultant with Genpact responsible for, among other things, global AML training. Until June 2015, Jeff was a Senior Vice President in the Financial Institution Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in charge of the Legal and Compliance Risk Department. Prior to joining the Fed, he held senior compliance and legal positions at Citibank and The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. Jeff is the author of numerous articles on the financial markets (which can be found at www.jeffingber.com). Among his other writings is a screenplay that was the basis for a movie, entitled “Crypto,” starring Kurt Russell and Alexis Bledel.
Mr. Spielmann is the CEO & Founder of Risk Tao, LLC, a firm specializing in Enterprise Risk Training and Advisory Services. Craig has a wealth of expertise, which he gained while working in a number of senior risk management roles at large Financial Service companies. Prior to Risk Tao, Craig was the Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management Strategy at First Data Corporation. He also served as Head of Operational Risk Management (Americas) and Global Head of Operational Risk Management Systems and Analytics at Royal Bank of Scotland. While at J.P. Morgan, Craig was the Head of Information Technology Risk Management and headed J.P. Morgan’s Horizon Risk & Advisory Business. In this role, he created J.P. Morgan’s Horizon GRC platform, which he deployed at J.P. Morgan and later commercialized and sold to a number of global Financial Service companies and regulators.
Mr. Flax is a senior technology executive. As the CTO for Omega One, he is leading the technology efforts to build an agency brokerage for the crypto currency and digital asset world. Prior to this role, Daniel was VP, Engineering for CAN Capital responsible for global product and application development. Prior to CAN, he was Chief Technology Officer of TheStreet, Inc. Daniel enjoys volunteering with several organizations. Daniel is a member of the board of trustees of NYCON Governance Matters. For several years, he was active with NYC2012 in their efforts to bring the 2012 Summer Olympic Games to New York City. Mr. Flax holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and was an Undergraduate Research Fellow in High Energy Astrophysics at CalTech in a joint program with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA.
Mr. Nowicki is a senior banking professional with extensive experience in risk management and proprietary trading gained during 25+ years of managing complex balance sheet positions for a large number of complex financial institutions including Societe Generale, HSBC and Natixis. He is a front line risk manager with direct experience in accounting, finance, operations and governance of regulated entities. The framework of his career developed at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY, where he developed a unique appreciation of the evolution of the markets and the impact of technology on the regulatory reporting process. He currently consults as an independent auditor for major financial institutions with a focus on the impact of the developing regulations on the liquidity and funding models of banks in a global environment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from New York University.
Mr. Safar is an entrepreneur and a technologist with more than 25 years experience in the FinTech Industry building distributed trading systems for Tier one investment banks such as Lehman Brothers, UBS and Dresdner Bank as well as on the vendor side with firms such as Renaissance Software, DataSynapse or Calypso Technologies where he was Chief Architect. He has co founded multiple startups such as ActiveViam (previously QuartetFS) where he was the the CTO and where he designed and built the vision for component based distributed systems and in particular ActivePivot, Quartet’s real time aggregation engine. He is currently the co-founder and CTO of Matrics, a new generation of Risk and Portfolio Management system for Asset Managers taking advantage of the convergence of Cloud, Blockchain and AI technologies.
Mr. Cahoon is a regulatory relationship expert with extensive experience in the Financial Services industry, both at a federal regulator and at international and regional banks. He has successfully built regulatory relationship management teams, managed critical regulatory commitments, provided leadership on regulatory strategy, and directly managed regulatory relationships. His information technology, security, and risk management experience also provide him a unique perspective on solving regulatory challenges.
